My favorite doc of the year--sorry, "Sugarman"--is 5 Broken Cameras, and it has stirred debate because of its joint Palestinian-Israeli production (it was shot by a man in the West Bank, whose footage was edited by an Israeli, with funds from France and Israel). Although its focus in on the settlements, from a purely Palestinian perspective, it has been banned in most Arab lands because of the Israeli connection.
