Continuing my weekly feature, even with Sandy bearing down, we turn to the final movement of what many consider Beethoven's greatest string quartet--the opus 131--which also marks the climax of the upcoming film "A Late Quartet," starring Christopher Walken as, yes, a famous cellist and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the unhappy 2nd violinist (more on that to come).

Hey Greg, just an fyi, The Toledo Blade endorsed Obama today. An important endorsement given the importance of the auto industry to the Toledo area.
I recorded today's (10/28) "Meet the Press" but haven't played it back yet. Mediaite.com indicates that Romney surrogate former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is on the panel. If you Google 'carly firina' and 'beethoven' you'll observe links to her memoir and an interview on CNN. In the former, show notes that her parents thought learning a musical instrument improved the mind, and after piano lessons, she fastened upon Beethoven as her favorite composer. Then during a CNN interview about five years ago, she was asked what historical personage she'd like to meet and she replied Beethoven. (no mention of an English/German translator).
